Loperamide used for the purpose of gastroenteritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and short bowel syndrome. This decreases the number of bowel movements and makes the stool less watery.

Loperamide is usually given once at the start of treatment and then after each loose stool (diarrhea) up to four times in a day. Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

It is better to be cautious and hence inform your doctor of all your medicines that you are taking and health problems, if any.
